Ich will da rauf! brings people with and without disabilities together to climb. The NGO runs 14 climbing groups for kids, teenagers, adults and families with 113 regular participants between the ages of six and 83 years.The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will enable the team to take the climbing to the rocks outside and organise two #itsgreatoutthere excursion days with max. 8 participants per day.

Startbahn ICH e.V. helps young adults between 15 and 25 to find their way in life and to connect to their hopes, dreams and aspirations through multi-day outdoor seminars away from the virtual world. Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) are part of the policing family in every borough in London. The aim is to build bridges between the police and the young people within the community. The aim is to divert those young people at risk of becoming involved in crime or becoming victims of crime.The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will allow 10 to 12 cadets, some of whom have never really experienced nature, to go on a 3-day (2-nights) trekking in Peak District National Park carrying their own provisions and complete a project along the route.

Out and about (Ut och njut) (Project Title)
Hej främling! (Hi stranger!) was founded in 2013 and focuses on integration through volunteer-led culture, sport and nature related activities where refugees and local citizens meet. The Out and about (Ut och njut) project will enable activities in the Norrbotten and Västerbotten departments over a period of 5 months and will 345 participants, both newly arrived (about 50%) and established Swedes (50%).The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will cover 10% of the regional coordinator who helps our volunteers to organise outdoor activities, spread the word and find participants and make sure the activity runs smoothly and that the activity leaders have everything the need, both information wise but also material.More information about the organisation here: https://www.facebook.com/hejframling

The Wild Serbia team consists of a group of young people, lovers of nature and adventure wanting to put a spotlight on the incredible natural beauty of Serbia.Every year in October, Wild Serbia organizes a spectacular adventure race for families and avid sportsmen alike. Racing over an unmarked trail with only basic equipment over the course of 2 days, the 70km survival category is no for the faint hearted. The family category however, running over 10km, allows beginners to build on their basic survival skills and experience a great adventure together.The It’s Great Out There micro-grants will be invested to better equip those families wanting to take on a survival challenge for the first time and will help the organizers to create safe conditions for those participants who have least experience.

Get Out After Lockdown Project (Project Title)
The Outdoor Families Get Out After Lockdown Project will help disadvantaged families in London to rebuild their confidence and get outdoors more regularly. As part of a wider programme, the It’s Great Out There micro-grant will Outdoor People to organise two ‘get-to-know-you’ Wild Walks, and to host a post-lockdown Family Camping trip to teach key skills and have fun outdoors. The organisation has vast experience in working with BAME, low-income and single parents and helps families moving from almost no time in green spaces towards going outdoors every day… from short walks in a local park to their first independent camping trip.They will recruit six families to work with deeply, plus a further 60 who will benefit from our resources, ‘How-to’ videos and support via our online groups.More about the organisation here: https://outdoorpeople.org.uk/

AFK Autumn Holiday Programme (Project Title)
AFK – Working with Disability works with 100s of disabled children and young people each year to help enable them to overcome many of the social, physical, and financial barriers to their independence.Covid-19 isolation with closure of schools & colleges and removal of activities, care and support networks, has hit those with learning disabilities in the most vulnerable groups especially hard. In response AFK will reintroduce face to face contact with disabled young people who would like to attend their holiday programme. The holiday programme takes place in local parks, woodlands and community gardens and enables disabled young people to get out and socialise, try new activities they otherwise wouldn’t, and encourages independence and self-determination.The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will co-fund the AFK holiday programme over 5 days including around 30 participants. The Madrid Mountaineering Federation promotes, organizes and manages mountain sport activities in the Madrid region.With their Youth programme they aim to introduce young people (12 – 17 years old) that live in Madrid and often have very limited access to nature to mountain activities. As part of the programme, a different activity is organised every 2 months incl: orienteering, mountaineering, alpinism, climbing, canyoning, mountain survival, etc.The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will help fund the Youth Programme and allows to schedule one more 2-day activity on the annual calendar to benefit around 12 to 24 young Madrilenas and Madrilenos.

Youth Adventure Trust (Organisation)
Inspiring young people to get outside after Covid (Project Title)
The Youth Adventure Trust was founded in 1992 and has since helped over 4000 vulnerable & disadvantage young people build resilience, develop confidence and learn valuable life skills through their outdoor adventure camps and activities aimed at 11–16 year olds.This year was different because of Covid-19. Whereas under normal circumstances 120 children join the programme each year, the organisation had to resort to a digital one-on-one mentoring scheme because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now they want to run post-lockdown group activity day sessions in the winter/early spring months which will provide a much-needed opportunity for the young people on the programme to reconnect, experience positive activities outside the home again and resume their YAT adventures.The It’s Great Out There micro-grant will enable one full activity day to be organised for 20 youngsters. Snow for refugees (Organisation)
Riders for Refugees (Project Title)
Snow for Refugees is a part of the global action of Riders for Refugees. Together with the help and generosity of the Praz sur Arly ski resort in France the organsation will invite around 50 refugees to the mountain on the 13th of March 2021 to discover our winter sports. The day will start by picking refugees from different associations in Haute-Savoie, giving them warm clothes from partners. They will spend a full day discovering skiing and snowboarding helped by instructors and pro riders and will share a hearty meal in between. At the end of the days, everyone will take the lift to admire the Mont-Blanc, watch a freestyle skiing/snowboarding show and will be taken back home by bus.
